Monetizing with Google AdSense – A #ShoutersChat Recap

Google AdSense is one of the most popular methods of monetizing your blog or your website. Google AdSense is owned by Google and it is based on the idea of displaying advertisements which are on similar lines as the content on your blog.

The AdSense examines the content on your page and finds out the advertisements that suit your reader’s interest. AdSense allows you to add text, media and display good quality ads on your blog. Thus, giving you an edge and some extra money.

It gives you an amount of money that is recurring and that will come back every time AdSense hits your blog. Since AdSense gives you a recurring income, you should definitely target it first and then move onto different monetizing techniques to improve your revenue.

That’s why this week’s #ShoutersChat was: “Monetizing with Google AdSense”.

Q1 What are some things to keep in mind while applying for AdSense?

Q2. For what kind of blogs should one use AdSense as the primary way of monetization?

A2. According to me any website with quality and relevant content can make money from AdSense. However, information-based sites get more clicks and revenue. For example new websites or technology-centric websites. #ShoutersChat

I would say, to my best knowledge and personal experience, information blogs contained blogs are the best for AdSense monetization.

e.g. Tech niche, health niche, real estate and gaming niche.

Q3. How can someone grow AdSense revenue?

A3. AdSense earning can be increased by proper ad placements, Using of both text and display ads, Link ad units. The best way to use Google auto ads. Works great for me. #ShoutersChat

A3) I tried and tested blocking some low CPC ad networks but it actually dropped my revenue. Now I find High CPC keywords and write articles about them. Keywords plays a major role on your CPC. #ShoutersChat

Q4. What are your thoughts on Google AdSense Auto Ads? Have you tried it?

A4) It’s a great move by @AdSense , as it saves a hell lot of time for us to focus on our content creation. However it’s not perfect yet. Sometimes ads are misplaced. No increase in earnings seen till now. But I think it will improve by time. #ShoutersChat
